يصدر National Assembly Act الرسمي (Act No. XIII of 2018) شهادة هوية واعترافاً بشخص transgender. في 19 مايو 2023 أسقطت Federal Shariat Court، في Shariat Petition No. 05/I of 2020 and connected petitions، الأقسام 2(f) و2(n)(iii) و3 و7 — أقسام الهوية المدرَكة ذاتياً وتسجيل NADRA — بوصفها مخالفة للأحكام الإسلامية.
