2025 年 11 月，政府制定規例，禁止為有性別焦慮或者性別唔一致嘅小朋友同青少年新開青春期阻斷藥（the Medicines (Restriction on Prescribing Gonadotropin-releasing Hormone Analogues) Amendment Regulations 2025）。已經食緊呢啲藥嘅小朋友被剔出規例之外。2025 年 12 月一項法庭命令喺挑戰審理期間停止執行。
2026 年 10 月 21 日，High Court 推翻咗呢啲規例。法官 La Hood 宣布佢哋 "unlawful and invalid"，同埋撤銷佢哋，認定 Ministry of Health 嘅諮詢唔夠，同埋對新病人全面禁止係 Bill of Rights 之下以殘疾為理由嘅 "disproportionate" 歧視。法官接受部長 "had a rational basis" 去限制青春期阻斷藥，長遠好處 "are uncertain,"，同埋話仍然係 "for the Minister and Cabinet to decide what, if any, restrictions should be placed."
冇全國限制生效。政府話有 "a lack of high-quality evidence"，同埋正尋求下一步意見。NZ First 要求上訴。
