2016 年 1 月 22 日，Narodne novine 公布了卫生部长通过的 Stručne smjernice（NN 7/2016）：关于变更性别或生活于另一种“性别认同”的意见，以及为患有性别焦虑的人提供健康和心理社会照护的专家指南。文本把 WPATH SOC7 倚为 “gold standard”，把儿童和青少年纳入评估，并把异性激素视为一种医疗选项，条件是该人被转介至该部专家名单上的内分泌科医生。
