This is a binding professional regulation. CFM Resolution 2.427/2025 (8 April 2025, DOU 16 April): Art. 5 prohibits physicians from prescribing puberty blockers for gender incongruence or dysphoria in children and adolescents (precocious puberty and recognised endocrine disease excepted). Art. 6 §2: opposite-sex hormones prohibited before 18. Art. 7: sterilizing surgeries not before 21. Already-started treatment is grandfathered (Art. 10).
The rule is national for doctors. STF Justice Flávio Dino restored the resolution after a first-instance Acre suspension (Reclamação 84.653).
