Iraq’s medical badge is a sex-change ban. The statute names a disorders of sex development (DSD) exception after a court and health-ministry instructions.
Law No. 15 of 2024 — the first amendment to the 1988 anti-prostitution law — was published in Official Gazette 4781 on 1 July 2024. The Ministry of Justice lists that issue. The Arabic text substitutes Article 2. Third: it is forbidden to change a person’s biological sex based on personal desire or inclination. The exception is surgical treatment of congenital deformities to confirm male or female sex, after a judicial decision and Ministry of Health instructions.
Schools. Article 2 Second forbids homosexuality in all its forms and prohibits promoting it by any means. Article 2 Fourth forbids organisations that promote it. That is a Schools restriction on promotional material, including what may be published or distributed to children.
