Italy’s National Bioethics Committee (Comitato Nazionale per la Bioetica, CNB) answered a Ministry of Health question on using triptorelin (a GnRH analogue used as a puberty blocker) for gender dysphoria in minors. It found the evidence insufficient.
The opinion is dated 22 November 2024 and was published in December 2024. The Committee urged Ministry-funded independent trials; hoped prescriptions would sit within those trials; called for multidisciplinary assessment; and said puberty blockers should be considered only after a psychological / psychotherapeutic (and psychiatric) path has not been effective.

Schools. Risoluzione in commissione 7-00203 (Sasso and others; VII Commissione Cultura) was approved on 11 September 2024. It asks the Government to adopt national guidelines so school activities are not used to propagate, unilaterally and uncritically, behavioural models inspired by so-called “ideologia gender.” The Camera has also received C.1885. That is Schools proposed.
