Kuwait’s medical badge is the sex-change intervention ban in the medical-practice statute. The statute does not name a nationwide ban on puberty blockers or opposite-sex hormones.
Law No. 70 of 2020 on the practice of medicine, patients’ rights, and health facilities. Article 19 forbids all operations, surgeries, and medical interventions that would change a person’s sex, except sex correction in ministry government hospitals only, where sex is ambiguous, physical traits conflict with physiological, biological, or genetic characteristics, ministry reports confirm that, and a three-doctor ministerial committee approves.
That exception is the disorders of sex development (DSD) track, where sex is medically ambiguous. It is not a gender-dysphoria surgery licence.
