The Minister of Health told Parliament in reply NW1207 (25 October 2024) that the National Essential Medicines List Committee listed testosterone and oestrogen for patients with gender dysphoria in December 2019. Treatment starts with a specialist team at tertiary and quaternary hospitals. There is no age restriction. The same reply said the listing is under review after the Cass Report. The National Department of Health still publishes the Standard Treatment Guidelines and Essential Medicines List.
