A national ethics opinion describes current practice. The Canton of Zurich said access stays open.
The National Advisory Commission on Biomedical Ethics (NEK-CNE Stellungnahme Nr. 43/2024) describes puberty suppression from Tanner 2, puberty blockers (GnRH analogues) prescribed outside the approved drug label, as current practice for minors with gender dysphoria after interdisciplinary assessment. That is an ethics opinion.
On 7 July 2025 the Canton of Zurich health directorate said circulating claims that puberty blocker access would be restricted do not match what the directorate said. Scientific observation is voluntary and does not limit access. Prescription stays with specialised endocrinology after interdisciplinary assessment.
