Taiwan’s health ministry published a friendly-care guide.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare Department of Medical Affairs LGBT+民眾醫療照護參考指引 (issued 13 December 2024, 衛部醫字第 1131671660 號) tells facilities how to build a “friendly” environment and how staff should respond. In the definitions, hormone treatment and surgery sit after a series of psychiatric assessments and referral. The same circular folds in the 2018 principles on minors with DSD (disorders of sex development) — avoid premature non-emergency irreversible sex surgery.
