On 15 May 2026 the Justice Department announced the first resolution under its national investigation into sex-rejecting procedures on minors. Texas Children’s Hospital agreed, with DOJ and the Texas Attorney General, not to perform those procedures on children — including puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones.
DOJ’s own press release, that day: TCH “will pay $10 million to resolve allegations that it submitted false billings” for pediatric sex-rejecting procedures. The Department alleges violations of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, the False Claims Act, and federal fraud and conspiracy laws. TCH also committed to a clinic for restorative care for people harmed by those interventions.
DOJ is also clear, on that same page: “The claims resolved by the United States in the settlements are allegations only and there has been no determination of liability. Both entities have denied all allegations.” The procedures on kids stop anyway.
