Another private pediatric clinic for sex-rejecting procedures on minors is going dark in California.
Prosilio Care in Pasadena was a private pediatric transgender facility linked to the Gender Confirmation Center in San Francisco. Johanna Olson-Kennedy — former medical director of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles’s Transyouth Clinic — was listed on Prosilio’s staff until the website was scrubbed Wednesday afternoon (23 September 2026). The Federalist’s Chris Bray reports the site went from detailed services and personnel pages to scrubbed and empty late that day. A reporter who visited found a locked, empty office Wednesday afternoon.
Gender Confirmation Center spokesman David Perry told The Federalist that Prosilio is not becoming adult-only. The decision to shut Prosilio entirely was made in November 2025, effective 1 October 2026 or sooner, and the wind-down is already underway. Perry said the closure is unrelated to that week’s Department of Justice hospital settlements with NYU Langone and UPMC.
That week’s DOJ resolutions are part of a broader federal push to end chemical and surgical sex-rejecting interventions on children at major hospital systems. Some providers had already moved pediatric work into private clinics. Malpractice-insurance pressure and ethics warnings from bodies such as the American Society of Plastic Surgeons add further strain. California, meanwhile, continues to fund pediatric interventions through the state budget — a separate track from this private-clinic shutdown.
