On 21 December 2025 Health Minister Steve Edgington issued the official media release NT to cease puberty blockers for children under 18 (Territory Stories; Northern Territory Government; Publications (Legal Deposit) Act 2004 (NT)). The Territory will cease public health access to puberty blockers and opposite-sex hormones for children under the age of 18.
That is a public-system restriction. The release governs public health access. Public under-18 puberty blockers and opposite-sex hormones are to cease in the NT system.
