Queensland and the Northern Territory paused public-system puberty blockers and opposite-sex hormones for minors. New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, and the ACT still run public clinic pathways.
On 31 January 2025 the Health Minister asked the National Health and Medical Research Council to write national clinical practice guidelines for the care of trans and gender diverse people under 18 with gender dysphoria. NHMRC’s official page: interim advice on puberty blockers is scheduled for public consultation in late 2026; the full guidelines are scheduled for April 2028.

Northern Territory. On 21 December 2025 Health Minister Edgington said the Territory will cease public health access to puberty blockers and opposite-sex hormones under 18 (HDL 10070/1023410). Public-system only.
Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, and the ACT are public clinic pathways — Perth Children’s Gender Diversity Service, SA Health’s Statewide Model of Care, the Tasmanian Gender Service, and Canberra Health Services’ Paediatric Gender Service.
